The Hilong-19 drill rig of Hilong Oil Service & Engineering Nigeria Project formally started operation at 12:00 on April 7, 2012 local time! This is the second 7000m drill land drilling contract signed between Hilong Oil Service & Engineering and Nigeria Shell SPDC in less than one year of their cooperation history.
Since shipping the first drill HL-2 in June last year to enter SPDC drill market, Hilong Oil Service & Engineering relied on advanced equipment, superior personnel quality and professional attitude of cooperation to win SPDC trust, both sides quickly reached agreement on shipping the second drill rig!
In the end HL-19 was successfully awarded the bid by Nigeria Shell in November 2011. With joint efforts from the Project Department and the Headquarters, on December 20, 2011 it successfully passed technology test and commercial inspection organized by Nigeria Shell and a third party testing company; immediately afterwards, on January 12, 2012 equipment were assembled at Tianjin Port, on January 17 the equipment ship left the port, on February 23 it successfully arrived at Nigeria.
From equipment arrival at port, custom clearance and transport, installation & commissioning to acceptance and startup of operation, it took only 43 days, which helped fulfill Party A’s wish to start operation in early April, meanwhile it also consolidated Hilong Oil Service’s foundation to gain a foothold at Shell’s high-end market!
